Dr Prue King BDS
Dr Prue King graduated from Otago University (NZ) and moved to Sydney from Wellington, NZ, where for many years she ran a busy integrative dental practice. Prior to that she worked in general practice in London where she was first exposed to many of the holistic concepts which form the basis of her practice today.
Lotus Dental is the culmination of a passionate vision she held for many years: a practice dedicated to integrative dentistry in the context of holistic health, extending beyond the normal “square box” of dentistry… Summed up as
‘Dentistry with the whole body in mind’
Dr Prue has special interests in TMJ (the treatment of jaw related disorders including head and neck pain), functional orthodontics (normally without extraction of teeth), bite rehabilitation / reconstruction, cosmetic and children’s dentistry.
She actively supports dental health in the context of the whole body, by working with other integrative practitioners including chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, holistic GPs, and ayurvedic practitioners to help improve the structural and biochemical integrity of the body.
A long-time committed yoga practitioner, Prue is also a practicing Yoga Teacher and offers individual yoga therapy sessions. Furthering her commitment to getting people involved in their own health and rehabilitation, Pilates classes are also offered within the practice.

Dr Zee Yap Shing BDS
For more than 16 years now, I have practised dentistry and increasingly love what I do.
What has kept me passionate throughout the journey are the discoveries and advances we continue to make as a profession, and the emerging realisation that excellence in dentistry can actually bring a profound life-changing difference to a patient’s wellbeing.
I graduated from University of Melbourne in 1999 and since then have undergone advanced training with the prestigious LVI Institute and global trailblazing leaders around the world, to stay abreast at the forefront of dentistry.
With continual emerging discoveries, scientific development in healthcare and technological innovations, we continue to forge new ways to deliver a higher quality of care through ever-improving techniques.
Most excitingly, dentistry is joining the dots more than ever when it comes to linking dental and whole body health. The sciences of oral-systemic connections, dental-postural links, dental sleep medicine, functional orthodontics, together with functional medicine, genetics, epigenetics, and nutrition, are providing us dentists with new insights into the root causes of disease. Therein lie sound solutions that impact optimal health and well-being for our patients.
Through special training in these sciences and working with other like-minded health practitioners, I have fortunately been privy to the ways healthcare can go beyond mere symptom-based relief. I am grateful to have been able to ride on the shoulders of giants and their camaraderie in the profession, as many have been so incredibly generous and passed on their knowledge with me. This journey has deeply influenced the way I perform dental procedures and manage patients and my vision for the future of dentistry. Our approach will indeed continue to be moulded as we excitingly peel away the layers in understanding the amazing workings of the human body.
With these discoveries, I believe it is absolutely necessary to take a holistic approach in healthcare, often working with other like-minded health practitioners, to unlock the full potential for improving our patients’ health. This makes me so proud to be part of a multidisciplinary team at Lotus Health, where philosophies are aligned.
